Aight so I go to people's profile's and they barely ever get comments on their blog posts, meaning no one gives a shit, meaning Imma keep it short:
^Shit like that pisses me off in NG. I know that if you wanna get recognition, you gotta work hard. Problem with that is, it's hard to find motivation knowing it's going nowhere, especially not in NG.
You go to NG and it's usually people who already have a steady fan-base here who are getting any to all attention (Then they make fans in YouTube and FUCK your NG fans).
What I mean by this, is that NG, really, to me, is just a website where a bunch of artists are just "there". If NewGrounds were a town, you'd have artists on every corner just working on stuff, but you're like "Whatever, I bought the same crap from a guy down the other street for cheaper, just ignore this guy." and that'd be the same thing for 5 blocks.
Alls I'm saying is NewGrounds needs to branch out more to unrecognized talent. Instead of when someone posts a flash, or a cartoon, or an audio, or a game, don't just frontpage it or give it an award, just to let it slowly be consumed by the dust trickling over it after you put it on your shelf. Give these artists some MOTIVATION! The POSSIBILITY of their shitty work being MENTIONED at least RANDOMLY means a lot more than you know!
But in the long run I'm not all that butt hurt. I've met amazing artists through NewGrounds in the past couple of months by just browsing, which is something not many people are willing to do. I confess I open the front page of Newgrounds like 5 times a day, knowing I'm not gonna find anything. Newgrounds is like a fridge at 3 in the morning, you know you're not gonna find anything new, or maybe something you think is new, but it's just a different brand.
But again, I don't care. This only makes unrecognized artists like me feel the need to collaborate with other artists who know they're not getting the exposure they believe they deserve. Which is great, too, because it's humbling. You notice these big time all-stars aren't really on TV, nor on the radio, they're in your country, they're your neighbors, they're the people who make content on the internet you go "haha" to for 5 seconds and COMPLETELY forget! So if you're a Newgrounds user who actually has the attention span to read all this, then there I have 2 reasons to congratulate you.
Thanks for the read, friend. You're awesome.
